I got fluffy mail !!! Love online shopping !!

Posted by admin 5 March, 2008 (20) Comment

Yay !!! I got fluffy mail today !!!

P1010002

MailS, in fact !!!! Not one , but 3 in the same day !! Was the postman happy to pass me my 3 parcels. He is used to ringing my doorbell to pass me my fluffy mails. He knows by now its baby’s stuff, cos he asked me about them once and I pointed to those diapers hanging out on the laundry lines. “Barang barang macam ni, lar, dik !”

Anyhow, this is the first fluffy mail I opened.

It’s a wool skirtie. Love the colours.

P1010009

The seller is a work at home mom from USA, Jacques of SweetSeats . Jacques had the skirtie washed and lanolized already so I was able to put them on Ashley right away. I put them on Ashley when we went out to the pediatrician just now. By the way, I modified this post to add the link because so many people emailed me asking me about it.

Kimberly have been having fever and running nose since Tuesday. The poor kid. I have been keeping her at home in case fever flared up during school hours. And my, does she have long school hours.

Anyhow, one of the moms at the pediatrician asked me about it, and so there I go again…cloth diapers, you know, pocket, fitted, modern day diapers… hence wool…blah blah blah…Even the husband looks impressed. I would have thought that by now cloth diapers is a very much well known item by now, but there are still many people who havent seen one.

Anyhow, what i love about this skirtie is that it came with shorts inside. So baby’s bum is relatively clean if she sit on the floor before I could stop her.

P1010014

Second fluffy mail !!

Pink Cheetah minky blankie !!

P1010018

Minky pink dot Clutch bag !!!

P1010016

The blankie and the clutch diaper bag came together from the same seller. This seller is also from USA. I bid them at ebay. The pink minky dot clutch bag is complimentary because I ordered a camo print and she send me a wrong one. So the seller courteously says I could have it and she will send me a replacement for the right one.

P1010068

For those who are interested in this blankie, more of this is coming to Malaysia soon *wink* *wink* But I haven’t checked if our cloth diaper seller friend in Malaysia who is bringing it in wanted it to be known yet. So I will just not let it out for now.

Hokay, editing the above paragraph .. Sandra of Miabambina has brought more assortment of funky animal print blankets in. Check them out !!!!

In case newbies are wondering, I bought all these stuff on-line . Isnt email marketing of those guys great? With more and more facilities like opt in email and email list software available, more and more online stores are being set up everyday. From only 2 cloth diapering online stores in Malaysia, now there are more than 10 ! And that’s in a space of a year ! Isn’t that great for us CD addicts? ha ha.

And each time I received a P1010012

These are from Shannon of Nanipoo Diapers , a work from home mom, also from the USA. I modified this post to add this link as well cos many people ask for the link as well. I just love getting stuff from work from home moms. They have such pretty prints.

P1010012a

I just love this Mermaid castle one. The seller put the castle right in front so that it looks nicer. And the inner velour is so soft and lush.

That is going to be the last for my fluffy mails for awile now, save for one large size custom made blankie in minky cow print from our abovementioned friendly neighbourhood CD store owner.

Happy CD shopping, folks !

Mad about animal prints !!! Yes, its diapers again !!

Posted by admin 11 February, 2008 (17) Comment

My first passion with animal print was when I first saw Jam Tot’s jaguar print in their berry plush diapers.

P1010072a

And Jam Tot’s minkee dalmation print blanket.

P1010094a

A few months later, I dressed Ashley in that and took her cow print minkee blanket along in her stroller when we went for the mummy and baby fair in Midvalley sometime last June.

Lots of mothers asked me about them and Ashley got her bum stroked for the umpteenth time that day, and the minkee blanket got so many stains from mothers fingering them that we had to wash them. Ha ha. Not that I minded. I love sharing stuff with other mums.

At that time, online store owners hasn’t bought in any animal prints diapers yet. It was a good 6 months before we saw an onslaught of animal print diapers.

Animal prints has finally caught on in Malaysia !!!

But if I were to wait, online store owners in Malaysia may or may not bring them in, and I don’t think I can wait half a year to satisfied my animal print craze.. 10 days to 14 days is the max time for me to wait for my fluffy mail !! And by that time, Ashley may or may not be on her way to being potty trained!

Anyhow, with Brenda and Sandra now bringing in cool animal prints, that means I could enhance my existing stash!!!

I got a Happy Heiny cow print diaper and a Mummy Touch Jaguar print from Brenda and cow print and cheetah print minkies from Grace.

An allday wetbag cow print and a matching wipe bag in cow print from Sandra and my favourite baby gadget, the cow print wipe container from Brenda. Are these cool or are these cool ????!! Yea, this is crazy !!!

MAD ABOUT DALMATION !!

P1010094

MAD ABOUT COW PRINT !!!

P1010078

P1010080

Sandra’s all day cow print wetbag has 17 diapers stuffed inside. That’s why it looks fat and stumpy. We were getting ready to go to FIL’s for reunion dinner. Grace’s regular wetbag has 2 diapers stuffed inside. It was the 2 diapers for the car ride. But you could stuff 6 diapers in there.

I use both of them stuffed wetbags as pillows for Kimberly and Ashley during the car ride. That cow print wipe container is from Brenda. YOu guys have probably seen that many times in my posts.

Babylegs …

P1010015

On Ashley…

P1010066a

Excuse her trousled hairdo. This is what happened when I am too busy to mind her. She runs around like a wild flower.

Assessories… the wahmies cow print wipe bag from Sandra and the 2 sets of cow prints wipes are each from Babysoftlandings and Grace respectively. The others are in the laundry.

P1010018

These are from Babysoftlandings.

P1010118

MAD ABOUT JAGUAR and MAD ABOUT CHEETAH !!

P1010090

MAD ABOUT GIRAFFE !!

These are baby spats from Babysoftlandings.

P1010013

They have the same functions as babylegs and huggalugs excepts that they cover the gap between bottom of trousers legs and the socks. Very fuss free and useful gadget when your toddler is nestled comfortably on your spouse’s arms and you didnt want to move her around too much

and giraffe print babylegs. Still new..

P1010014

Both MiaBambina and Babysashanmom carries animal prints babylegs/huggalugs in case anyone is keen.

And since we are on same note on diapers, these are the new diapers I dug out from my stash for Ashley to wear for her Chinese New Year.

Chinese believes that one should wear everything new on the first 3 days of the lunar year to ensure new clothes all year round, down to their underwear, and preferably red. And by red, I mean underwear. You don’t see them around till come CNY!! So Ashley get new diapers dug out from my unused stash for the occasion.

P1010092

on the top row, that’s tot bot’s yellow bamboo with velcro, petite desious aqua bamboo from cottontail with snaps, blueberries’s yellow cover.

On the second row, that’s itti bitti dlish in lime, itti bitti classic cotton knit in rainbow, itti bitti dlish in fushsia, bumgenius bamboo with velcro in yellow.

On the last row, its thirsties in hot pink, blueberries jaguar print training pants in M size (Ashley is such a string bean she still fit most of her M size diapers), blueberries jewel tone training pants in L size and Happy Heinys’ bamboo hugger.

If anyone wants to see more animal prints, you can hop over to Brenda’s blog and drool over her collections. We were just discussing about how mad we are over animal prints the other day and when she beat me to the post on her blog, I told her “I oso want to fast fast put up mine” So, here it is !!!

Will put up pics of CNY when I have a chance on the net again. It’s kind of crowded here at FIL and I havent even a chance to get on the net till now.

And KONG HEI FATT CHOY, EVERYONE !!!

Cloth Wipes

Posted by admin 14 January, 2008 (26) Comment

Well, if you are using cloth diapers, you might as well use cloth wipes to wipe their bum with. They are all going to go into the machine anyhow, so might as well dump the cloth wipes in the machine together with the soiled diapers.

I have been nuts about wipes for awhile now. Shown here is some of the wipes I have, but those are the ones not in the laundry or in the baby bag. It can be exhausting digging out all of them.

Most of my wipes are from Miabambina and some from BabySashanMom.

I have a lot of favourites but most are taken away by Kimberly for herself so I cant use them.

According to my little madam, I am only allowed to use those blue ones with boy prints on them ie. those with vehicles, dinasaurs etc. So since those are in the laundry, i took the liberty to dig out her hankies (as she calls them) to take pictures of.

P1010038

Anyhow, these are some of my other favourites. I got a few of these prints, so my little madam condescent to oblige me with a few of these prints to use on her little baby sister.

These are from Phoebe of Cloth Thoughts, one of the moms in Diaper Pins. I am using some of them right now, took some of those Kimberly doesnt like off her and I am loving them to bits. They are knit or flannel on one side and sherpa in colours to match the print on the other side, ie. the ballet print would have pink sherpa etc.

P1010089

P1010088

Kimberly love this ballet print a lot. She takes them to school as hankies instead of using tissues nowadays. Love the dinasaur print too but didnt take any solo picture of those.

P1010091

I also love these prints.

P1010095

P1010072

Phoebe of Cloth Thoughts also make diapers with these prints but I didnt get any diapers from her. I have more diapers than I can handle now. hee hee.

P1010038

P1010040

These are some of the older wipes that I have been using. Save for the pink, orange and alphabets ones which Kimberly is claiming for herself, her little sister is entitled to the rest.

P1010126

These are from Babysoftlandings. I got these because there was one time when Ashley was all over Sesame Streets and Elmo.

P1010114

This is my other favourite. Alphabets prints and peachy hat prints from Wahmies. Got them both from Sandra

P1010104

P1010106

These here are rejects from Kimberly. She was picking through the wipes and when she sees these, she goes, “Eeeyewww…dinasaurs. YOu can have these, Momma !” So these ends up with her little sister.

P1010117

Some cow prints to satisfy my animal prints craze…These cow prints are from Babysoftlandings.

P1010118

These are some of the earlier ones that found their way into Kimberly’s drawers

P1010133

I got them from NewMoonPads. They also sell mamapads but I thought I try out their wipes first before getting some mamapads. Then Sandra and Brenda brought in some really good ones and I found those delicious coloured ones at Cottontailbaby and end up not getting any mamapads from NewMoonPads after all.

Anyhow, I thought the prints are so pretty.

P1010134

P1010135

P1010136

Well, at least Kimberly gave me some of the animal prints. She doesnt care for them and only keep two for herself. These animal prints are from NewMoonPads

P1010138

You would have thought I have more wipes than I can handle. Not so, since Kimberly claim most of them for herself.

P1010129

Lucky for me I have enough old ones to tide me over for a long time.

And of course, you wouldnt want to be carrying ziplock bags to carry your soggy used soiled wipes in when you are out and about. So what would you be needing? Wipes container and wipe bags, of course.

These are from my earlier posts. some accessories that you may need. Not necessary but sure is useful. I hate it when i have to grope around for anything in my huge babybag. Keeping the wipes together sure makes it easier when i need to whip up a wet wipe or a dry hanky quick.

P1010005 (2)

P1010002 (2)

Another baby gadget I find useful. Foam wipe solution to foam on greasy fingers when the kids are having ice cream or have been holding greasy nuggets with their little hands.

P1010034

Okay, time to get some food ready for Kimberly. She is almost due home from school now. It’s MIL ’s week off this week and I need to work from home. But ha ha. this blogging thing can be distracting. Anyhow, will try to put up photos of wipe bags if I have the time to upload them at flikcrs. Meanwhile, Wipes Lovers, there you go.

Itti Bitti diapers - how trim can you get?

Posted by admin 10 December, 2007 (26) Comment

I have found the trimmest diaper around for Ashley. You know how you get that niggling feeling when your baby’s behind looks so fluffy?

Well, I have been trying out all the brands known to be trim, but none make the marks. This one takes home the trophy. It really is the trimmest dipes around. The name even denote it. Itti Bitti. Now how tiny can you get?

They have really pretty prints too. I have more than these cos I got myself enough for 2 days’ usage (well, almost, naptime and long rides excluded). The rest is in laundry so I didnt bother taking pictures of them. Oh, I am bound to get this question so I will answer them now. I got them from this online Aussie store called Itti Bitti

See how trim they are ?

P1010036a

See how pretty the tiny details on the prints are?

P1010022a

P1010019a

I can even dress Ashley in these under Ashley’s denim pants. They dont take up the bulk in her bum area. And the tight is high which means she has tight freedom. I have measured them against disposable diapers and found them to be even trimmer than disposable.

Okay, I dont like the feeling of itchy scratchy tissue (which is what disposables are made of, tissue, papers and plastic) against my little one anymore than she does now. She is all for cloth now. If I put disposables on her, she gets uncomfortable and scratches herself. Thats how comfortable cloth diapers are.

The bitti boo plush minky ones has two snap in inserts like these.

P1010043

The classic ones are like these

P1010041

They also have PUL snap in AIO but mine is in the laundry.

I have been wanting to post about these trim Itti Bitti’s since June when I found them but with one thing and another, I keep putting it off. When I finally have some time, I lost my camera and when I found it, I cant locate the cable. And so this post is put up after I got a card reader for the camera. Whew.. and now I can also finally take some new pictures of my kids. Havent taken pictures of the kids for quite awhile too.

I have some old pictures of Ashley in Itti Bitti diapers but the good ones of hers are taken with her lying down. And I have a “thing” about posting pictures of my kids lying down, ( I think most Asian moms will agree with me) so I will not put them up here.

I measured the Itti Bitti diapers against swaddlebees (I read somewhere that it is one of the trimmest diapers around). See the huge difference in the crotch width?

P1010050a

I put Itti Bitti on Ashley nowadays if we dress her in pants. I used to avoid dressing babies in pants because of diapers. But now its such a pleasure to be able to dig out Kimberly’s cute little suede, velvet, cotton and denim pants out for Ashley.

Arrggghhh.. I cant stand not putting up pictures of my kids here. Here is a picture of them taken at Genting last Sunday.

P1010012

More pics from Genting. This is Ashley at one the the Coffee Beans there.

P1010028

Settling down for the night. We love staying at Theme Park Hotel cos its just a walk down to the Theme Park. There are better hotels but we just prefer this one for the distance.

P1010008

That’s Ashley in a Tigger’s sleepsuit complete with a Tigger hood which my friend Michelle got for her from Disney Store in England. Kimberly has a Piglet’s one and a Pooh Bear’s from her too 6 years ago. The material from the one in Disney Store is so much better than the one I saw at Mothercare last year. The one in Mothercare wasnt half as plush as this and doesnt have half the detailed stitches and cartoon characters like honeypots and bees etc.

And this here at the corner is seen Ashley’s daddy trying to wean Ashley off her mummy breastfeeding her. After tins and tins of formula, still trying in vain…. but he`is not giving up…

Oh, okay, found a picture of Ashley in Itti Bitti diapers. This is Ashley and Kimberly doing their nightly “Big Hug !!!!!” routine (a routine established by big sister Kimberly) before going to bed.

P1010020

Well, have a good day, All, and Happy Holiday !

Diapers again? Not exactly, its diaper cover this time…..

Posted by admin 1 December, 2007 (5) Comment

I wanted to show off Ashley’s wool shorties for the longest time. She has them for a few months now but I hadnt time to upload them at flickrs. Come the time I have some time to do it, my camera has gone missing. Now that I have found my camera, I discovered that the last maid has misplaced the cable. so I decide to steal the picture from kozydesign’s site instead and ta…dah….

This is the one that Ashley got !! Pink with grey ruffles. The pink is actually more pleasant to the eye than in the picture. When i get a card reader, i will put up a picture of it here. Meanwhile… wool lovers… feast your eyes on these !!!

These really are the prettiest ones around that I could find, Llamajama excluded. Llamajama has also very pretty prints for baby girls. But Ashley has outgrown her Llamajama. When I get the size 3T AND the card reader, will put up a pic here.

Ashley sometimes wear fitted diapers at night now. And when she does, I don’t bother changing her into PUL diapers anymore. I just pull over this shorties or her Llamajama longies over the diapers. Those wool covers are so soft and luxurious to the touch !!

On long road trips, the wool shorties and the wool longies are the first thing I grab to dress her in. They are so soft and comfortable. My heart just feel so good knowing that she is feeling comfortable. We use them every single time we visit my Father in Law who lives 3 1/2 hour car ride away from us. We visit every alternate weekends.

Some may think that its a lot of trouble lanolizing the wool.

* Lano-what??!!*

Lanolize !!!

It means to wash the wool cover with lanolin rich foam wash or lanolin rich soap cos lanolin has resistance to odor and rash causing bacteria, and if you lanolize your covers, your covers doesn’t need to be washed every time it gets wet! You dont have to worry about getting woolcare in Malaysia either, cos Mia Bambina has them. I just saw it on her site yesterday. Asked Sandra about it and she said she just put it up yesterday.

I used to have to get my brother who live in Perth to bring it down to me to save shipping cost, OR pay for shipping costs of the wool care products. Can be hefty, cos they are heavy !

Diaper addicts really should try them !

And …0h yea.. while I was getting those wool shorties the last time. I also got myself these mamapads …

Got to steal another picture from their site…till I get my card reader and put up my own stash here. I got the bamboo pads one each in every colour !!! Those rainbow colours are so pleasing to the eyes !!

Anyhow…the colours are so so pretty that I just had to have one in every colour..okay, except the dark bluish colour, which I didnt fancy

And they are really luxurious to the touch too !! I never knew that practising natural living could be so much fun…hee… hee

Diaper stash

Posted by admin 5 September, 2007 (23) Comment

diaper on laundry

I have been buying and buying, so much so that I forgot what I have. I stored some in the drawers and some in the diaper holder on Ashley crib. Some in Ashley’s cupboard. Now I have resorted to buying 3 pink containers from Ikea and storing each day’s laundry in each individual box and rotating the diapers every 3 days. Yes, I am talking about diapers again. Don’t kill me. I can’t help it. I am officially a cloth diaper addict now.

Okay, its time to show off my stash again. I am putting up some pictures of some earlier previous addition to my stash. For recent addition to my stash, I will do them later when I have time to take pictures of them. Kimberly took some of these for me when I had wanted to do it myself. She was so eager.

“Let me help you, Momma!! Let me ! Let me! “

And of course, I am more than happy too. Excuse the pictures if it isn’t well taken. Ha ha.

These shown in this post are my favourites from my older stash.

Will show my other favourites later when I do a post on the more recent additions to my stash which I got last month.

This two here on top are the Berryplush jaguar and Berryplush soft pink from Jam Tots.

baby soft landings

Ashley wore the jaguar Berryplush with a white polo neck long sleeved tee at the Mommy and Baby fair at Midvalley last month.
P1010147

Lots of moms at Brenda’s booth can’t resist stroking their palm over her bum. Hee hee. Those moms were looking over Brenda’s fitted cloth diapers at her booth, BabySashaNmom.

This here on the bottom right hand corner is BumGenius Bamboo, also one of my other fave, for the firm body and build in a diaper so soft to the touch.

This is Pink Intensity Baby Beehind on the bottom left hand corner. One of my other favourite. I dress Ashley in this a lot.

P1010085

P1010116

The pink is so intense, the name is so appropriate.

I got them all from BabySoftLandings, an Aussie online store.

These below are some of my other favourites, the Just Ducky diapers. The alphabet print is my fav.

alphabet just ducky

I dress Ashley in Just Ducky dipes a lot. This is Ashley in the alphabet print flannel. Excuse her tousled curls. She just got up from her nap.
P1010269
A tad big, being size L. It has flannel outer and fleece inner. Love them for the texture and the oh-so-pretty prints.

Ashley also fit the Just Ducky in medium size. The blue dot in pink fleece in the picture below is the medium size. Its also in flannel and fleece. The rest are in cotton knit and fleece.
just ducky

ashley upside down again

Anyhow, I got all these from Just Ducky.com more than half a year ago. It’s an online store in the states. Those who are interested can call Brenda of BabySashaNmom. She is bringing in some just ducky dipes next month.

I also like these from Swaddlebees (the two top ones). Very plush and very trim. You can even see the plush from the picture. It has easy to dry sewed in booster. I got one-size fit all for these.
natural babies
Got them swaddlebees around 3 months back from NaturalBabies, another online store in the states. Those who like them can call Sandra of Miabambina. She will be carrying some Swaddlebees next month too. Sandra is our diaper doctor in Malaysia. She knows everything under the sun about dipes.

This is Ashley in swaddlebees playing in her gran’s room.

P1010078

P1010075

and in the living room

P1010051

Oh, and that natural coloured non printed one’s sherpa from Happy Heinys. Really soft. Like Drybees’ bamboo fitted.

Last but not the least of my favourites, is this pink gingham FuzziBuns. Love the print! Cant get the print here, so got to get them from an online store in the states.

Wish I could find my darn camera. Wish I can take more pics of Ashley in them. When I have the camera, I couldn’t find the time for it. Now that I have lost my camera, I keep wishing I had taken more pics.

Okay, time to get a new camera. Doesn’t look as if my old one is going to turn up.

Have a great day , All and happy online shopping, you moms out there !!

Fitted Diapers

Posted by admin 6 July, 2007 (23) Comment

I thought I try out fitted nappies for a change.

“Fitted” meaning there isn’t any cover over them nappies and you are likely to get wet beds when your kid is napping unless you put those diaper covers over them. Okay, guys and single ladies, again, this is a post not of any interest to you.

cotton bottom

There are an amazing new variety of covers available nowadays though, unlike those itchy scratchy plastic overtop that you find in Jusco, Pureen or Anakku. Those new ones are incredibly soft and cloth-like. Like our Tau Geh Soh’s Freshbot. Come in such pretty colours too. Got myself a rose coloured one for just in case.

However, I am not inclined to use covers with fitted nappies cos I don’t find the necessity for them. Ashley would only be wearing fitted nappies when she is not napping, anyhow. If she does nap with them, there is always my Rose Freshbot handy.

Anyhow, I got myself a variety of those fitted nappies. I mean, for Ashley. I got them from Cotton Bottom. These below are Cute Tooshies’ bamboo delights and hemp classics and Motherease’s multi fit nappy and Tot Bots’ original tots. They are all single fits (fit newborn up to 15 kg) except for Tot Bot’s which is in size 2.

I love them all. They are all so different in their material and design.

bamboo velour

bamboo

The CuteTooshies’ bamboo delights are made of bamboo velour. I thought it is the most luxurious nappy fabric ever !! You just want to put your cheeks next to them forever !

It comes together with two matching bamboo organic cotton booster topped with a layer of bamboo velour so that it’s the material that your baby’s skin is laying next to , and then you snap that booster into the nappy. It also has an amazing amount of stretch in the leg rise to cater for newborns up to toddlers. It has multiple side snaps adjustable to sumo-thighs babies or string beans babies.

hemp classic

The Cute Tooshies’ hemp are of course, made from hemp. It came together with 2 pieces of curved booster you lay on top of the nappy, no snapping in to place but so far so good, it didn’t run from one place to another. This one, too, has multiple side snaps and good amount of stretch for leg rise. I thought hemp would be really stiff, but it wasn’t too bad. I figure it must be because it is a combination of hemp and some other fabric. Hemp is thirsty and is good for heavy wetting babies.

The Motherease’s multi fit has 3 rows of front snaps like BumGenius. You just snap the setting you want. Ashley wears hers on medium setting. It has Velcro on the side and sewed-in booster like those All-in-ones Drybees.

This is Ashley in Motherease in her room at the grandad’s house.

ashley in her room at grandad's hse 2

ashley in her room at grandad's hse

Pictures of her in Motherease are the only pictures I manage to snap cos I was maid less the last two weeks. My biadap replacement old maid ran away (refuse to go back to the agent when we tried to get her into the car but prefers to run away, sigh) and the other young (also) replacement maid were called away by the agency when the embassy started checking on maids whose contract has been terminated by their original employers but were sent to people like us who are awaiting new maids. But it was a breeze even without maids. Just that I have a lot less time to myself, but it was sure peaceful and stress free at home. My husband enjoyed the privacy scarce have.

On that note, I find that I could finish the dishes, wok and pans in just 15 minutes flat. I just don’t understand how that old maid can stand beside the kitchen sink from 7 pm to 10 pm just washing up 3 to 4 of the plates left from dinner and a few cups. (3 or 4 plates cos MIL usually wash up the wok and stuff after cooking and we usually wash up our own dinner plates anyhow).

I also find that it takes only 15 minutes to fold the basket of laundry. I don’t know how that “old maid” can kneel by the guest bed folding from 2pm to 5pm just to finish 12 to 20 pieces of clothes. (“old maid” because she told us her “umur asli” is 35 years old but she has no teeth. I mean, she has lost a lot of her front teeth, is far sighted, wear glasses and can’t see anything below her nose. I just don’t believe she is 35 years old?)

Same goes to mopping the house and hanging laundry (our maids don’t wash, the machine does, cos the maids just are NOT CLEAN). It was all breezy and fast and I realize that that the old maid “sesungguhnya” (desperately) want to waste time. (the young maid is good, just that she is just a replacement). The old one could spend 3 hours just washing a 2 feet by 2 feet side sidewall outside our house and MIL just doesn’t have the time to monitor her. Anyhow, that old maid probably would kill herself in her passionate quest trying to kill time.

*okay, okay, will stop digressing and ranting about maids. Once I started, I just can’t stop, especially if they are stubbornly rude*

tot bot

Anyhow, I love the Original Tots too. It is made from fluffy material, is thick and has Velcro on the side. You can actually see the fluff from the picture! Thick as it is, though, it is not bulky on the crotch cos it just kind of curve along with Ashley’s built.

This is how Motherease’s Multi looks like from the back. This is Ashley merajuk because Chieh Chieh wouldn’t let her touch her jigsaw puzzle.

merajuk cos chieh chieh wont share puzzle

Doesn’t it look soft and comfortable?

ashley wearing motherease diaper

MIL like using them. Much as she likes BumGenius over Drybees, she thinks that fitted is more “breathable” without a PUL cover.

Love all them fitted nappies. Perhaps our Tau Geh Soh will consider bringing them in soon. LOL.

my first step towards frugal living - Cloth Diapers !

Posted by admin 13 May, 2007 (26) Comment

You know how it’s like when you have been spending tons on grocery and you resolved to be more frugal in the future. You know how you resolve not to buy stuff you never used but you never live up to your resolutions and you end up throwing food all the time?

And you know the feeling when you need to buy disposable diapers for your kids every 10 days or so, you wince when you see the amount in the cash till ringing higher and higher?

In my bid to practice frugal living, I have toyed with the idea of using cloth diapers for a long time. Since time immemorial !!!! Okay, since Kimberly was born, actually. That was 6 years ago !

The main issue of my concern was the poo. Okay, guys and single ladies, you can stop reading at this point. This post is more for moms than anyone else.

So, I tried on this brand by Drybees and hey!!!! I was pretty impressed. I had been asking Sandra tons of questions atMyMomsBest,(Lilian’s breastfeeding forum) before I got the first 2 to try out. Sandra owns an online store called MiaBambina.

This is half of my stash. The other half is in the washer.

drybees cloth diapers

To be earnest, I was more attracted by the prints than anything else. Hee hee. The first factor which prompts me to buy was actually the new print of Drybees, the Lavender Jangle. Not so much the practice of frugal living.

I liked the prints so much I got 3 Lavender jangles, 2 pink jangles and 2 green jangles. I had started out with 2, but end up with 14!!! I mean, you only need about 8,or max, 12. It must be the good feeling associated with the practice of frugal living. ha ha.. Though I probably defeat the purpose somewhat.

For moms who don’t know what I find is so great about this particular one, I should tell you that the inner lining goes right over the babies’ tight and the outer polyester lining doesn’t brush against her skin (incidentally it is the same fabric as disposable). Because it doesn’t irritate the skin, it is really comfortable. At least, Ashley doesn’t try to peel them at all, unlike her disposables (the drybees has velcro).

Also, the microsuede/fleece lining separating the insert and the skin is amazing. It wicks the moisture to pass through the insert and the suede/fleece itself remains dry.

I thought my kid was dry when I undress her for her bath. Checked the diaper and it appeared dry. But when I tear open the Velcro, my, the insert is sopping wet. I am impressed!!! It’s even drier on the skin than disposable!!!! So that’s what prompt me to buy another 2, and another 3 and another 3 and so on, and now I have 14 !!!

That was when i found out that the microsuede is stain resistant and the poo could be rolled off into the toilet bowl and be washed out.

This is Ashley in Drybees, the pink jangle print.( I prefer Drybees to Bumgenius)

And these are pics of Ashley in Bum Genius. Bum Genius can go right from newborn to about 18 kg. My MIL prefers bumgenius over drybees, so i have to get some of both.

how does this work?

the little artist deep in thought

So you can see Ashley wearing bum genius on the week that MIL is minding her and drybees on the week that my MIL wasn’t around to help. LOL

Try these, girls, I am not getting any paid for this but I really advocate cloth diapering and I really think all moms should give cloth diapers a chance.
